Plate Clamps

About Plate Clamps in Hardwire

Plate clamps latch on plates, beams, pipes and sheets and grip them safely while hoisting, transferring, or positioning. Plate clamps are used in factories and warehouses, construction sites, ports and docks, and fabrication plants.

Plate clamps are usually made of steel and coated to resist corrosion. They feature a lifting eye which secures the rigging and often a safety latch or lock.

There are three types of plate clamps for overhead lifting and it is important to select the right clamp for the specific application:

  • Vertical lift only
  • Horizontal — to and from vertical through a 90-degree plane
  • Horizontal — to and from vertical through a 180-degree plan
