STAINLESS STEEL WIRE ROPE

Stainless steel has less content of carbon than steel and a high amount of chromium to make it corrosion and staining resistant. Chromium makes stainless steel more resistant to rust but its hardness and tensile strength are less than steel due to the less amount of carbon.

More resistance to corrosion and high temperature make stainless steel wire ropes perfect for using in harsh environments. Stainless steel wire rope can also be used decoratively.

Stainless steel wire ropes are made in type 304 and type 316. There is an additional element in type 316, molybdenum, which is added to make the wire rope more corrosion resistant.
