ELECTRIC CHAIN HOIST

A hoist is used to move loads vertically by a drum (or wheel) on which wraps a rope, a wire rope or a chain. Hoist can be operated manually, electrically or pneumatically.

An electric chain hoist uses a motor which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy to lift and lower heavy loads. It has a brake to ensure the load is carefully held while lifting. Using electric hoist increases the speed of the hoist and reduces power consumption and the time needed to complete the lifting application.

Electric chain hoists can be used on overhead or jib cranes.

Electric chain hoists are more popular than wire rope ones due to its ease of use and true vertical lifting (without side pulling).
