A sling (also called lifting sling) is used to lift loads with crane or hoist effectively and safely.
A sling consists of webbing, chain or wire rope attached to rigging hardware (hooks, shackles, master links and …).
Slings can increase the capacity of the lifting and support the load more effectively.
Depending on application and environment, slings come in various materials, styles, length and load limits.
Chain Slings can lift heavy and bulky loads on a regular and repetitive basis. They are resistant to corrosion, UV exposure and chemicals. Chain slings have two or multiple length of chain with hooks at one end.
Wire rope slings are popular because they are kink resistant and provide strength and flexibility. Wire rope slings are easier to use and less expensive than chain slings. They are usually the best choice for extremely heavy lifting.
